Federico ZUCCARO (San Angelo in Vado, 1540 - Ancona, 1609) Saint Anthony and Saint Francis framing the children of Federico Zuccaro Pen and brown ink. Height 12,7 - Width 19,2 cm Folds and stains, small tears on the edges. Drawing doubled. Provenance : Former Alfred Normand collection, his mounting. Our drawing is preparatory to the "Pala Zuccari" with Saint Anthony and Saint Francis framing the children of Zuccaro. The painting (Sant'Angelo in Vado) was given by Federico in 1603 to his parish (see : C. Acadini Luchinat, Taddeo and Federico Zuccari, fratelli pittori del Cinquecento, Jandi Sapi Editori, Milan-Rome, 1999, vol. II, pp. 232-234, fig. 1). According to a handwritten annotation on the mount, our drawing has been identified by Monsieur Noël Annesley. Various annotations on the reverse.
