Paris, 1778]. 14 vol. in-8 and 1 small atlas in-folio, all bound in marbled tan with ornate smooth spines. Illustrated collection of Cook's voyages composed of the first voyage (1768-1771), 8 volumes bound in 4 volumes, of the second voyage (1772-1775), 6 volumes, of the atlas of the second voyage of 66 plates including one 10 bis and of the third voyage (1776-1779), 4 volumes illustrated with a large folded map, one folded plate and folded tables. Bindings slightly rubbed, corners dulled, leaves slightly foxed, some foxing and other minor defects. The whole remains in a uniform binding (different for the atlas) of the period and in good general condition. (Brunet II, 255; Chadenat, 1578 - for the third voyage).
