Eighteenth edition of the famous encyclopedic dictionary of the Italian Augustinian scholar and cleric Ambrogio Calepio (1435-1511), known as Calepino, who gave the noun calepin in our language. A recast and archaizing edition in 11 languages: Latin, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, French, sometimes Flemish (noted Belgian), Spanish, German, English, Hungarian and Polish. It is followed by Konrad Gesner's Dictionary of Proper Names. Binding damaged with paper tears, endpapers missing, old repairs to title page, numerous handwritten bookplates of a Jean Demares, other minor defects.
