Catechism entirely engraved for the young Duke of Burgundy, as was the tradition at the time. The work consists of a title page engraved with the arms of the Duke of Burgundy, 49 figures by Franz Ertinger (1640-1710) and Nicolas Guérard (c.1648-1719), 49 pages of ornate text, and a privilege page engraved in the manner of a frontispiece. The verso of the texts and illustrations is blank. Part of the spine split, traces of incising on the boards, small restoration at the tail, ink tracings on the reverse of a text plate, some traces.
