Rare first edition of the Logique de Port-Royal, one of the major works of Jansenism, conceived at Port-Royal by Antoine Arnauld and Pierre Nicole. The work constitutes a sort of abridged Logic, the ABC of Jansenist thought and offers a synthesis of the main philosophical currents of the time.
The privilege of this first edition is granted to a certain Monsieur Le Bon, a name under which the authors hid to avoid prosecution. A sought-after edition.
