Circular table clock with hour chimes, Germany, circa 1600. 24-hour dial in two scales, the one for hours I to XII with Roman numerals, the one for hours 13 to 24 in Arabic numerals, both surrounded by touch-pieces, center finely engraved with three formalized foliage circles (center plate replaced), single iron hand (later); movement (24 hours duration) in iron with gilded brass barrels (one replaced), gilded fusee with gut string, escapement with folio (renewed as well as its cock), lever adjustment, strongly balustered pillars in gilded brass, striking on gong; gilded case with two levels, the one below openwork with a decoration of foliage coming out of vases in a symmetrical way, the level above engraved with a mannerist decoration of cartouches and compositions of flowers and foliage, plate of the base replaced.
