KACHINA CHAKWAINA DOLL Hopi, Arizona, Southwestern United States of America circa 1960-1970 Wood, feathers, skin, fabric, wool, string, beads and pigments Height : 34 cm His yellow crescent moon eyes, his toothed mouth, his hanging tongue, his beard and his hair are all attributes that allow us to recognize Chakwaina. His body is painted black while his shoulders are yellow. He used to hold rattles in his hands. He wears earrings made of blue and red beads. This god is of Zuni origin, he was described for the first time by Fewkes in 1894 then 1903 and also by Stevenson in 1904, he dances on the first mesa in Pamuya. Reference Colton n°160.
