A GROUP OF 20 SMALL BACTRIAN HEADS
Ancient region of Bactria, c. 1000 BC. Of various sizes and materials such as glass, ceramic, and hardstones, all carved in the round with almond eyes set beneath arching brows, some with small ears, others with headdresses. Every piece with a drilling.
Condition: Good condition commensurate with age, with some encrustations.
Provenance: Ex-collection of the imperial family of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, last Shah of Iran (a letter of provenance signed by Dr. Zelnik will be handed out to the winning bidder upon request).
