HORSE AT THE DRINK Guastini Foundry Bronze H. 39 cm, L. 48 cm, W. 29 cm Signed Degas Numbered 1/25 Guastini foundry stamp, enlargement authorized by the Degas Committee Certificate of the Degas Committee issued by its president Bruno Pasquier, in Paris, on July 28, 2021, with notice of inclusion in the catalog raisonné of Degas's sculptures After the Salon des Indépendants, where Degas exhibited his sculpture of the Little Dancer, age 14, the master continued to sculpt in the intimacy of his studio. His brother and executor discovered a series of 73 waxes representing dancers and horses, including this Cheval à l'abreuvoir (Horse at the trough), which was made into a bronze print numbered 1/25 to 25/25.
