Armand GUILLAUMIN is probably the least known of the great Impressionist painters, although he was part of it from the beginning and was its last survivor. A landscape painter of intense color, he distinguished himself by his landscapes of the Paris region, the Creuse and the Esterel.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Armand Guillaumin oriented his work towards a tighter style, a brighter palette, almost violent, which enthused, from 1901, the young Othon Friesz, who declared himself dazzled by the purples, ochres and purples.
He went to the Côte d'Azur in Agay, where he painted a series of seascapes and landscapes with the painter Victor-Ferdinand Bourgeois.
