With this double plate, we are in the pure tradition of Mad Magazine, which the authors René Goscinny and Marcel Gotlib know well and established in France: that of a systematic and shifted parody of the cultural phenomena of the society of the time, such as the television which knows then its first hours of triumph. One of the great programs on the only channel of the time, the ORTF, is the mystery series Les Cinq Dernières Minutes, whose main character is the commissioner Bourrel played by the actor Raymond Souplex. He concluded all his investigations with the famous exclamation "Good God! But it is of course!" Gotlib, whose line is always of impeccable virtuosity, adds a host of hilarious details, in plates that operate on several levels of reading. A fragmented laugh.
