Monsieur Noir is a macabre comedy by Jean Dufaux, a gothic avatar of Alice in Wonderland mixed with Jean Ray-like fantasy. With her childlike air and her Grimsie plush, Fanny is innocence incarnate in a universe ruled by the owner of the castle and his 748 rites as immutable as they are fearsome. It takes all the talent of Flemish cartoonist Griffo to give a little bonhomie and color to this dark room.
