HUNDRED YEARS' WAR.
Manuscript on vellum, 5.5 x 26.5 cm, with fragment of red wax seal of arms. Carentan, February 1, 1387.
"Les mareschaux de France à noz aimez les trésoriers des guerres du
Roy [...]. We send you enclos under our common seal of the mareschaucee the reveue of messire Thomas sire de La Luserne knight and five escuiers of his compaignie [...] sufficiently armed and mounted to serve in the gaiges of the Roy nostredit Seigneur in his present wars in the country of Normandy", in order to have them paid.
Attached is a fragment of "La reveue de Messire Thomas de La Luserne chevalier et cinq escuiers de sa compaignie" (cut off at the bottom after the 4th name).
