In Milan, At the Author, and Engraved by the Bordiga brothers, year 6e [1797/1798], &amp;<br/> In Paris, Chez l'Auteur, year 10 [1801/1802] (for the second part).<br/> Reunion of 56 leaves, including 53 engraved maps (on 47 leaves), some watercolored (in the<br/> (in the first part), in six volumes and six cases in speckled calf with red morocco title-pieces of the<br/> of the time.<br/> <br/> - 1st part : 29 maps with nine folds (65 x 51 cm each), three of them with cartouche, intended to be<br/> to be assembled in one, to which have been attached three sheets of tables.<br/> - 2nd part : 24 maps, on 18 sheets, including 6 with nine, fifteen or eighteen folds, intended to be assembled in one.<br/> Nice copy of this first large map of Italy.<br/> The author is presented as Captain of cannoniers attached during the whole war to the gal Bonaparte<br/> as chief of his Beau Topographique or as engineer-geographer, attached to the Dépôt<br/> of the War.<br/> Small defects to the cases; large ink stains on the back of map 13 of the first part not affecting the front; small round ink stain on map 18 of the same part.<br/> <br/> Provenance : Maréchal Berthier, then by descent
