First edition illustrated with 180 beautiful full-page engraved plates, out of text presenting different fruits with their leaves, branches, pits... and a frontispiece engraving by Jacques de Sève. This edition published under Duhamel's name was actually composed according to his memoirs and those of his brother, by René Le Berriays.
Henri-Louis Duhamel de Monceau was one of the main agronomists of the 18th century: independent spirit, experimenter, curious about all natural sciences and their applications, he is considered as one of the fathers of modern agronomy.
A very nice copy, on large paper.
Minor holes in the margins pp. 161-162 of volume II. Minor rubbing, small wormholes on the spines and on the second cover of volume I.
