First edition of this manual in the form of a dictionary: it gives the description of 493 common or exotic plants, and explains their nutritional and dietetic functions, their use in cooking, their preservation or distillation. Buc'hoz (Metz, 1731-1807), a native of Lorraine, was physician to King Stanislas of Poland, before teaching botany in Nancy. Restorations to the binding, slight spotting.
