Small in-8; [vi], 99p. folding frontispiece (Andreoli's balloon rising above Venice), and one folding engraved plate (diagram). Full later marbled basane, smooth spine decorated with balloon irons with title in long, green and gold printed endpapers. A very fresh copy. In the last chapter, Du Pré evokes a plan for the invasion of Great Britain, by means of a squadron of ten hydrogen-filled aerostats, allowing the transport of six thousand soldiers with their armament. The work is dedicated to Prince Eugene Napoleon, Viceroy of Italy. Extremely rare (only 3 ex. listed in the Worldcat).
