Arabic manuscript on paper. 266 folios and two binding folios. 14 to 16 lines per page in fine naskh script within a frame of gold, red and blue fillets. Marginal medallion on folio 202 with green, gold and blue filleting. Rosettes at the end of the verses in gold. Sura titles written in gold thuluth. Colophon dated 987 H./ 1579-80. First double-page replacement, with the text of the Fatiha on a gilt background, illuminated with poly-lobed cartouches on a cobalt-blue background, and on the verso the beginning of Sura al-Baqara surmounted by an illuminated sarlowh. Bound in red morocco with stamped and gilt decoration of medallions with pendants. Condition: old restorations, erasures, stains, wetness, a few tears, claims are not systematic, hole on folio 3; the first two folios added later. Expert L.S.
