West Asia, Abbasid art, 9th-10th century Glass mosaic, in two shades of translucent blue and white, the right end restored. 12.3 x 6 cm A small bowl similar to ours, in dark blue and white glass, is kept at the David Collection in Copenhagen (33/1978) and another one of identical shape and dimensions to ours is kept at the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin-Preussischer Kulturbesitz in Berlin. They are published in: S. Carboni and D. Whitehouse, Glass of the Sultans, 2002, cat.65 and 66, pp. 151-152.
