Dutch school of the beginning of the XIXth century. Portrait of Petrus Adrianus BERGSHA (1743 - 1824). Gouache on oval paper. 27 x 23 cm. Center of the period frame. Petrus Adrianus Bergsha, held important administrative positions throughout his life, from Grietman (equivalent of mayor) to bailiff of the municipality of Dantumadeel as well as member of the board of directors of Friesland, the largest province of the Netherlands. He was also a very large landowner and entrepreneur.
