It is also thanks to this intrepidity that Charlotte Perriand has left her mark on the history of design. In the mid-1920s, when the trend was still Art Deco, she stood out for her simplicity, her choice of beautiful materials and her fascination with the industrial world. In the France of the interwar period, she discovered a new mechanical civilization, which would continue to influence her conception of furniture. An artist committed to the left, close to the Communist Party, she wished above all to put the subject at the center of the space, to promote comfort and social ties.
