PIERRE CHAPO (1927-1986) 1984 Pierre Chapo uses exclusively wood and essentially oak, ash and solid elm which he works with the double interest that he carries to the contemporary design and to the know-how of the traditional craft. In 1960, within the framework of the exhibition Arts and techniques of the craft industry, his work is rewarded by a Gold Medal of the city of Paris. He participates in several projects with different architects, including Charlotte Perriand for the resort of Les Arcs. This collaboration will deeply influence his work, especially in the purity and apparent simplicity of the lines.
