Tea, Ocean and Safari: A 6 night itinerary in Sri Lanka at Ceylon Tea Trails, Cape Weligama and Wild Coast Tented Lodge Long before creating the first three Relais & Châteaux in Sri Lanka, Malik J. Fernando's family was cultivating its refinement with the production of Ceylon tea. Taking in their Dilmah tea plantations and discovering both the Indian Ocean and jungle safaris, this Route du Bonheur provides an extraordinary insight into the island's riches. Long before creating the first three Relais & Châteaux in Sri Lanka, Malik J. Fernando's family cultivated its refinement with the production of Ceylon tea. From their tea plantations in Dilmah to discoveries of the Indian Ocean and jungle safaris, this Road to Happiness provides an extraordinary insight into the island's riches. Ceylon Tea Trails (2 nights) The Tea Trails is perched at an altitude of 1,250 meters in the heart of the tea growing region of Ceylon, near the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka. You will stay in one of five authentic tea planters' bungalows, each with its own unique charm. Castlereagh, Summerville and Dunkeld are lakeside, Norwood has a panoramic view and Tientsin is more colonial; all have period furniture. You'll observe plantation life, savor the delicious cuisine and enjoy the delicate attentions of your personal butler. An ideal place for bicycle tours on the winding roads, with the breathtaking landscape of mountains, lakes and waterfalls in the background. Cape Weligama (2 nights) The room doors open onto the private garden, with palm trees swaying in the breeze and the ocean behind them. Set on a promontory overlooking the Indian Ocean, the houses that make up Cape Weligama offer spectacular views of the idyllic landscape from all sides. On the beachfront, the crescent-shaped infinity pool seems to float above the waves; it is flanked by a paved pathway leading down to the coves whose crystal clear water allows the view of the turtles. The tiled roofs of the complex, designed by renowned architect Lek Bunnag, evoke a traditional Sri Lankan village, and house generously sized spaces furnished with style. Wild Coast tented lodge (2 nights) In the southeast of Sri Lanka is the Wild Coast Tented Lodge; twenty-eight tents like cocoons on the edge of the jungle and the beach. The complex is shaped like a leopard's paw, the emblematic animal of Yala National Park, which you will discover alongside the camp's naturalists, ready for a safari. At the outposts, the suites overlook the Indian Ocean. Each of these colonial expedition-style canvas arches is punctuated by a private pool. The main building, braided with bamboo, looks like one of the rocks on the shore. It houses the restaurant, which offers a modern take on traditional Sri Lankan dishes in the open air. This unforgettable itinerary includes, for two people: - Two nights at Ceylon Tea Trails in a Garden Suite with full board and drinks included (selection of spirits and wines) as well as linen service, Wi-Fi, taxes and gratuities. You will also benefit from the Tea Experience tour. - Two nights at the Wild Coast Tented Lodge in a Cocoon Suite with full board and beverages included (selection of spirits and wines), as well as Wi-Fi and gratuities.
