CHINA, 20th century, partially gilded bronze subject, representing Guanyin-Avalokiteshvara standing on a lotus on a pyramidal base, holding the vase of lustral water in the left hand, the right hand raised in abhaya-mudra (absence of fear). The deity is leaning against a mandorla decorated on its reverse with Shakyamuni Buddha and two bodhisattvas among flames, the base bearing apocryphal inscriptions. H. 39 cm.
