Autograph manuscript, [1867]; 69 pages in 4.
Reception speech at the Académie Française.
Cuvillier-Fleury draws a remarkable portrait of his predecessor DUPIN aîné (1783-1865), whose career as a magistrate and politician he traces. [Cuvillier-Fleury was elected on April 12, 1866, to replace Dupin aîné, and was received under the Dome on April 11, 1867].
Attached are two other autograph MANUSCRITS written as an academician: speech delivered at the funeral of François PONSARD, July 9, 1867 (16 pages in 8); and notice on Jules SANDEAU who died April 24, 1883 (8 pages in 4, the last work of Cuvillier-Fleury who was then almost blind). Plus the printed brochure of the reception speech.
