Henry Cros made his first attempts in glass paste in 1883, he is considered as one of the pioneers of the rediscovery of this technique.
He was a student of the sculptor François Jouffroy and Louis-Jules Etex at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He also attended the painting classes of Jules-Emmanuel Valadon.
