Rare account of the trial about the identity of the Marquise de Douhault, a mysterious case of multiple disappearances against the background of inheritance around the castle of Chazelet and which will remain unsolved. The trial began during the French Revolution and lasted nearly 40 years. Numerous authors, such as Wilkie Collins with The Woman in White and Geoges Lenôtre with The Woman with No Name, have been inspired by this criminal case. One adds: Collection of old and new songs. Hymnes patriotiques, chançons patriotes, hymns dedicated to God, with canticles sung by François Honoré Touzard. sl, sd (end of XVIIIe s.). In-12 brown calf, smooth spine finely ornamented, boards richly decorated with a beautiful lace frame and large gilt arms in the center (17th century binding).
