Handwritten log, written in English by Auguste Delcambre on board the ship Succes, from Calcutta to London, from August 1818 to January 1819. A notebook in-4, [19] f., bound in garnet half-basin with corners, bearing the label of the Parisian stationer Delaville (worn binding, 2 loose plates, at least one image missing). The illustration consists of 7 ink and watercolor maps, 6 of which are full-page, showing the route taken; and 8 other watercolor illustrations of various sizes, including 2 small coastal panoramas, the leg and skull of an albatross, a yellowfin tuna. The illustrations are captioned.
The diary itself occupies 19 pages, 5 of which offer tables showing the boat's progress day after day as well as meteorological remarks.
