AMORT (Eusebius). De origine, progressu, valore ac fructu indulgentiarum, necnon de dispositionibus ad eas lucrandas requisitis, accurata notitia historica, dogmatica, polemica, critica. Augustae Vindelicorum et Graecii, sumpt. P. ac M. Veith et Joannis fratris haeredum, 1735. Three parts in one volume in-folio, [12] f., 234-306-91 p., [2] f., fr., pl., contemporary spotted tan calf, spine with 6 nerves, brown title-piece, ornamented caissons, red edges (small snag on the head-cap, corners rubbed). First edition of this treatise on indulgences composed by the German theologian E. Amort (1692-1775). The second part of the work deals with heresies, the third is a supplement. The edition is illustrated with a frontispiece, and a portrait of the dedicatee Pope Clement XII, engraved on copper after Johann Christoph Kolb. Modern stamp of a religious establishment on a guard and on the v° of the title.
