[Manuscript]. VERGNAUD-ROMAGNÉSI (Charles François). Manuel du veneur containing a method for sounding the horn preceded by some principles of music and 211 tones and fanfares with new words appropriate to hunting. [About 1825]. In-4 oblong, paperback, cover with handwritten title (soiling), in green half-maroquin slipcase with bands [A. Guégant].
Interesting manuscript which takes the title of the rare work published by C. F. Vergnaud-Romagnési, a scholar from Orléans, in 1824, and seems to add to it in view of a completed edition. It is composed as follows: [1] f. (lithographed title), 33 p. figures (Foreword, origin of the horn, choice of the instrument, hunting tunes, authors, and notes); about 90 pages of scores, some of which are engraved at the end; 6 p. of engraved couplets, [4] p. handwritten for the General Table. Also includes a lithograph titled "Manuel du chasseur", and a drawing on tracing paper.
