1972 - Rolls Royce Silver Shadow ex Michel Sardou Dutch circulation title Chassis n° SYE SRX12332 - Bought new by Michel Sardou - Strictly original condition, nice restoration project - Unique opportunity to acquire a piece of history The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was presented in 1965 at the London Motor Show after ten years of design and development. Its production was a historic revolution for the British brand. Now equipped with 4-wheel disc brakes, the new production sedan kept the Hydramatic engine and gearbox of the last Silver Clouds and now had a monocoque with rear suspension and coil springs. Another revolution is that the Silver Shadow is designed to be driven by its owner and not by a driver. It met with an unpredictable commercial success until 1976 with nearly 20,000 units sold, all versions included. The Rolls Royce we present is delivered new on September 13, 1972 by Franco Britannic to the singer Michel Sardou. Then passed in the hands of a Dutch owner, we find this example today in a state of conservation close to the barn find. The current owner having found no time to use the car since 2017, he stored it in a covered garage. At the time of our visit, the car still started but a major overhaul will be necessary to get it back on the road safely. Cosmetically, the paint is still in pretty good shape but some body parts such as the rear fenders will need to be restored due to a significant presence of perforating corrosion. The Bordeaux leather interior has a very nice patina and will need a major cleaning to recover the whole without too many changes. This luxurious 1970's sedan represents an ideal purchase for a lover of beautiful stories and beautiful machines!
