"Let me first evoke for this message the patronage of your most illustrious poet, of the one of whom our Victor Hugo was able to say: "To speak of Mickiewicz is to speak of the beautiful, the just and the true; it is to speak of the right, of which he was the soldier, of the duty of which he was the hero, of the liberty of which he was the apostle and of the deliverance of which he is the precursor". And he quotes the Book of Polish Pilgrims... The booklet by Tytus Czyzewski, Osio? i S?o?ce w Metamorfozie (Krakow, 1922) is enclosed; small in-12 (uncrumpled, missing the 2nd plate).
