Sold new in France Nice configuration Recently serviced French registration title Chassis n° ZFFLA12B000044229 After the sublime Dino 246 and the controversial 308 GT4, Ferrari was missing an entry-level model worthy of its reputation. This was done in 1975 at the Motor Show. A pure berlinetta, the 308 offered a design perfectly in tune with the times, signed by Pininfarina. The car was based on the GT4 chassis but was shortened by 21 cm, making it a very agile short-chassis car. Stylistically, the design was new, setting the standard of beauty for the time. Over time, it became one of Ferrari’s most iconic designs. Another innovation was that the first 808 cars were clad in polyester before returning to steel panels. The heart of this Ferrari, a masterpiece if ever there was one, is a 3-litre, four overhead cam V8 engine, already seen in the GT4, still positioned transversely at the rear and fed by four Weber 40 DCOE twin barrel carburettors. The eight cylinders are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, allowing the car to exceed 240 km/h. Unlike the GT4, the GTB is a pure 2-seater with minimal equipment. However, the anti-pollution standards would get the better of the Weber magic by imposing Bosch electronic fuel injection, reducing power from 255 to 214 hp. In 1982, the Quattrovalvole version with its four valves per cylinder would regain 240 hp and first class performance. The 308 made thousands of enthusiasts dream and allowed Ferrari to successfully go through the 80s. The car we are presenting was sold new in France and registered on 20th January 1983. It has an elegant colour combination of Argento iron bodywork with a beautiful Cartier red leather interior. Its current owner took possession in 2011 and is said to be the third hand. On the day of our visit, the odometer shows 49,408 km, in 11 years he will have covered just over 3,000 km behind the wheel.  Our 308 GTB is now in its original condition. The bodywork has some imperfections but the interior has a nice patina. The mechanics have been regularly maintained these last years. An oil change as well as the replacement of the timing belt have been done at the end of 2021. Sold with a valid technical control, our berlinette is ready to hit the road. Its beautiful configuration sets it apart from the other more conventional 308s, and there is no doubt that it will seduce enthusiasts of the model.
