"Portrait of Pablo Picasso painting", original photograph signed by André Villers.
Posterior gelatin silver print on baryta paper, 39.5 x 29 cm, Stamp, caption and autograph signature of the photographer, on verso. "Picasso. 1955 during the shooting of the film "mystery
Picasso" photo taken by myself".
André Villers was 23 years old when he met Pablo Picasso in March 1953 at
Vallauris. A real friendship develops between the two men and from this relationship some remarkable photographs will be born.
With sensitivity, André Villers captures through his lens the intensity, the depth and the strength of Picasso. He takes us into the intimacy of the painter. This complicity will result in the creation of the book "Diurnes" in 1962. The book includes a text by Jacques Prévert, cut-outs by Picasso and photographic interpretations by André Villers. The
Museum of Photography André Villers in Mougins devotes a permanent space to this poet of the image.
