SAVINGS BANK OF BORDEAUX FOUNDED IN 1819. Allegories of Work, Abundance and Savings. R/. Crown of roses in the lower corner. View of the city of Bordeaux surmounted by the crowned coat of arms of the city. Cartouche. Silver plate signed Henri Dubois attributed to P. BUHAN director (1936-1939) delivered in its original case. Ø 76,24 x 57,22 mm (147,80 g) Dull blank. Very nice. Created in 1819 at the instigation of the Count of Tournon, then prefect of the Gironde, the Caisse d'Épargne de Bordeaux brought together many local players, including wine merchants and shipowners. In its wake, many other Caisses d'Épargne were created in Aquitaine Poitou-Charentes, reaching 61 establishments at the beginning of the 20th century!
