This rare view of the entrance to the port of Le Havre is an interesting testimony of the entrance to the port before the
the bombings of September 1944. The tower in the background, built on the orders of François I, had been
dismantled in 1861 in order to enlarge the harbor entrance. Only a few buildings from before 1945 remain today.
