Pair of 18th century Sèvres porcelain candlesticks with gilt bronze mounts About 1768, one with gold mark with two intertwined L's and gilder's mark for Vandé, fils In the form of a twisted column, with polychrome decoration of garlands of flowers, a restored chip to one column, both columns reduced H. total : 13 cm. Provenance : Perhaps from the delivery to M Poirier (Simon-Pierre Poirier, marchand-mercier), "during the first six months of the year 1768 : 4 columns, 30 (livres each)" (AMNS Vy 4 fol.150). Notes: There is a mention in the Travaux extraordinaires des peintres de la manufacture de Sèvres in 1768 of a payment of 24 livres to the painter Couturier for the painting of twelve torso columns with garlands.
