Set of 7 autograph letters signed, addressed to Jean-Auguste Le Bailly, publisher. From 1863 to 1871; mainly in-8° format. It is about requests for authorization to publish some pieces or songs: song of the washerwomen of Ruy Blas, edition of the music of Gounod, the piece of the songs of the twilight, Old song of the young time, the madman of Toledo, "I grant him specially for him only in this kind of publication the right to publish in book of song only the separate words without music of the two pieces indicated above"; "These words are in Marie Tudor. But I have conceded to M. Gounod the right to set them to music"; "I, the undersigned Victor Hugo, [] declare that I authorize [] to publish in music, with or without lithography the Ballade des Deux archers."
