Joseph, viscount VIGIER (1821-1894) Portrait of Queen Marie Amélie in exile, near a vase. Claremont, England, September 1852 Salt paper print, from a paper negative. Original mounting, four corner bindings. Strong contrast. Beautiful print by this important early photographer, friend of Count Aguado, made famous by the views of the Pyrenees that he made the following year in 1863. 18 x 13 cm approx. A variant of the portrait was auctioned in 2012.
