Citroën produced the traction car from 1934 to 1957. In the collective memory, this car remains linked to the Occupation, as a Gestapo car and an icon of the Resistance. This car has a particularity that was not very common at the time: the front wheels, and not the rear, are driven. Front-wheel drive was not an innovation, since manufacturers such as Cord in the United States and Adler and DKW in Germany had already been offering it in series production for several years. In any case, this technique was quickly associated in France with the Citroën, which earned it the nickname "traction".
This car was bought by the couple after selling the 5HP. Equipped with a simple toolbox, they took a plane to the hinterland of the Tropézien where the car was for sale. Seduced by the fluid lines of the vehicle, the deal was closed and despite a restoration to be planned, they returned by road with a jerry can in the boot of the car to feed the engine, the original tank being pierced! The restoration of the vehicle follows in order to fully enjoy it. We know that the engine was rebuilt in June 1998 and the paintwork in August of the same year. The car has been upgraded to 12 volt with a modern alternator and a DS starter. The car is in very good condition, it has been put back on the road and is running. A small sheet metal repair will be required on one of the lower body panels in order to have a clean CT.
