LONGUS : Les amours pastorales de Daphnis et Chloé, double translation of Mr Amyot and an anonymous, put in parallel and decorated with original prints of the famous B. Audran, engraved at the expense of the late Duke of Orleans, Regent of France...Imprimerie pour les curieux, 1757. Small in-4 contemporary green morocco, smooth spine decorated, large gilt lace on the sides, gilt edges (spine a little faded, some brown marks along some pages or plates). Beautiful edition called "des Curieux" with the text framed. It is illustrated with a frontispiece by Coypel and 28 figures by Philippe d'Orléans, engraved by Audran, one figure "dite des petits pieds" attributed to Caylus. All these figures are surrounded by frames decorated by Folke. 1 fleuron on the title and 8 bandeaux by Eisen; 8 culs-de-lampe by Cochin (Cohen 653). A fine copy in contemporary lace morocco.
