ALMANACH : True lame messenger of Berne. Besançon et Berne, chez les Principaux Libraires, 1815. Small square in-8 full red chagrin of the XIXth century, smooth spine decorated, gilded fillets on the boards. (stamp on some pages). Historical almanac containing astronomical observations on each month. The course of the sun and the moon. The main fairs of Switzerland, Germany, France, Savoye, etc. Finally a collection of stories and anecdotes accompanied by plates. Text on 2 columns, illustrated title page, 14 woodcuts in the text, 4 full-page, and a folding plate out of text (royal session held in Paris on June 4, 1814). Also known as the Almanach romand, the Messager boiteux (because of the character represented in a composition on the title) has been published from 1708 to the present day; it is an almanac with a strong regional flavour (French-speaking Switzerland, but also neighbouring French departments and the Aosta Valley). Each year presents a set of small and different historical relationships concerning the past year.
