JACOB (Max). Visions of the sufferings and death of Jesus, son of God. Paris: Au quatre chemins, 1928. - In-8, in sheets, filled cover, publisher's slipcase. First edition of this collection forming the first issue of the "Collection Maurice Sachs", including 40 black reproductions of drawings by Max Jacob, one of which is a self-portrait. Edition at 300 copies plus a few off-market copies, this one being one of the 279 on Annam de Rives (n° 43), enriched with this very nice AUTOGRAPHIC SENDING FROM THE AUTHOR TO THE ARTIST JACQUES ÉMILE BLANCHE: "to Jacques Émile Blanche // who marks with greatness and // grace the arts he practices // as a master, // who contemplates with benevolent // serenity the jars where the human // species is agitated - and owes the cries // of his bitter satires only to the pains // of a tender crumpled optimism // his respectful friend // Max Jacob // 28. " Dirt and small bites to the slipcase and the cover. Tear without missing to the latter.
