First edition of this poetic collection prefaced by Alexandre Dumas, illustrated with a steel engraved frontispiece by Charles Mauduit after a drawing by Alfred Johannot, here on strong vellum. A fine copy despite the renewed endpapers. Without the list of the publisher Charpentier's novelties, which is often missing. Minor foxing. - POETRY. Paris : François Louis, 1820. - In-8, lemon half-maroquin, smooth spine decorated with gilt fillets, gilt monogram at the end, yellow edges (period binding). First edition of the second printed work of the poetess, containing 41 elegies, 34 romances and 7 mélanges. It is illustrated with an engraved title and three engraved copper plates after Chasselat and Desenne. A very fine copy in a contemporary binding, bearing the gilt HA on the spine. Rubbing to the headpieces, renewed endpapers. Some foxing.
