Paris : Hyppolite Souverain, 1842. - In-8, ochre half calf, spine gilt, untrimmed, cover preserved (20th century binding).
First edition of this comedy first performed on March 19, 1842 at the Odéon theatre.
Epidermure to the last box, minor rubbing from use. Cover stained and lined. Stamp mostly erased on the false title.
Provenance: A. Hénin, Parisian goldsmith and bibliophile, with his bookplate engraved by E. Valton and dated 1880. - Léon Delaroche, with bookplate drawn by George Auriol.
