First illustrated edition, partly original, decorated with more than one hundred steel-engraved vignettes after compositions by Baron, Janet-Lange, Gavarni, Français and Marckl. The text has more than four hundred variants compared to the previous edition.
A resale copy, with the cover dated 1841, enriched with 4 prints on chine appliqué, the title vignette, and the compositions on pages 98, 149 and 287. There is also a copy of the specimen and two duplicate leaves of text (pp. 13-14 and 193-194).
Copy unclipped, to be bound. It is preserved in a slipcase and a waiting cardboard folder, inside of which it is indicated that it should be bound in old red calf. The spine of the cover has not been preserved and the second cover has a tear with a missing edge. Some marginal foxing.
