MG F Serial number SARRDWBTN1D524782 Attractive English convertible French registration Fifteen years after the MGB was discontinued, the MGF relaunches the British roadster, without giving in to neo-retro. Technically interesting with its central engine and its hydragas suspension, it will meet a nice success. For the design, we adopt the proposal of the company MGA Developments which realized one of the prototypes of the future MGF, whose drawing is refined by the house designer Gerry McGovern. For the engine, the modern K-Series, which had appeared in the Rover 200 in 1988, was retained, but for the suspension, surprise: the Hydragas system by Alex Moulton was chosen, combining hydraulics and nitrogen as in the Citroën, but without high pressure. The car was launched in March 1995, and introduced the 1.8 litre K-Series version, which developed 120 bhp under the bonnet. It took 15 years to give a descendant to the MGB, of which a tempting RV8 evolution was marketed in 1991, in order to put the MG name back in the minds of the general public before the appearance of the MGF. This one is all the more interesting as it doesn't give in to the retro fashion, contrary to the MX-5, Fiat Barchetta and BMW Z3, these two last ones being presented almost at the same time as the English one, which plays on the contrary the modernity by its architecture and its line. The car we present is in a beautiful and classic British classic green configuration with a black interior. Its general condition is satisfactory. With its soft top that can be opened and closed in an instant, this charming English convertible has its place in the great tradition of British roadsters.
