Serial number VF7XBEJ0000EJ8024 Good cosmetic and mechanical condition 80 000 kilometres French registration "I love, I love, I love! As Julien Clerc so aptly put it in a number of commercials, Citroën is continuing its adventure in the market for innovative cars that stand out from the competition. In 1982, under the Eiffel Tower, the first BX was inaugurated with great pomp. The new model of the brand with the chevrons was the star of the year, but its atypical design created a rift among buyers who referred to the wiser features of the Peugeot 305, Audi 80 and other Talbot Solara. However, the BX was a real success, so much so that two years after its presentation, the one millionth car rolled off the assembly line. Offered in several aesthetic and mechanical configurations, this new model was aimed at the heart of Citroën's range and from 1985 onwards sporty outfits with the successive arrival of the "sport" versions, then the "GTI 16S" with 160 horsepower under the bonnet. This extraordinary power allowed the French saloon to exceed 210 km/h in top speed and thus became a fierce opponent of the BMW 325i for a much lower price. The year 1993 marked the end of the BX model with the appearance of the Xantia a year earlier. A total of 2.3 million units were produced by Citroën, a real success for the brand. First registered on 20 May 1988, the Citroën BX we are presenting to you is part of the second phase of global production with a slight restyling. In its original "Meije" white colour, our car has only covered 88,000 km since leaving the factory. Once you've settled in comfortably in the semi-bucket seats, the interior of this BX is a real plunge into the motor sport of the 1980s and 1990s: the numerous meters and the characteristic typology invite you to turn the ignition key and hear the 160 horsepower awaken. During our test drive, we found that this 16-valve model handled perfectly well on the road and that the performance promise of this raging engine is still there. Comfort and fun are the two keys to a successful recipe, and this 16-valve BX GTI is no exception.
