The triangle of Bamana country is divided into two parts by the Niger River. It comprises most of the west and south of present-day Mali. Bamana cane surmounted by a finely sculpted female figure. Represented standing, the figure is adorned with a high crested headdress. The face is very expressive. The arms are gathered along the body, the buttocks arched. The geometric patterns representing scarifications on the whole body and the very beautiful patina are noteworthy.
