The Spanish Guitarist, ca. 1770-1780 Folded fan, the silk sheet painted with three cartels edged with silver or pink sequins. On the right, a still life presents under a trellis, two glasses, two bottles of wine, fruits, and a pie. On the left, symbols of Love including two doves, two burning hearts on an altar, a quiver filled with arrows. In the center, a guitarist seduces a young woman while two children sail their boats on a pond. Reverse: three bouquets of flowers in medallions. Cut, pierced, engraved and gilded ivory* frame of flowered vases framing a young couple. The plumes painted with vases on a white mother-of-pearl background.
